Garbage for a Cause

Tuckahoe, NY
Note: This work was created using real pieces of garbage. I found the pink horse lying on a beach in Stamford, CT (and thought I would use it for some kind of Christmas composition), the pink tape dispenser (which appeared to be in great shape -- it was only missing the piece that holds a roll of tape -- probably the reason it was discarded) and vodka bottle in Tuckahoe, NY (though not next to each other). I placed these three pieces in a shady area that consisted of a crushed soda can, black plastic bag, black cloth bandanna and translucent piece of plastic to create this composition.
All pink/red items retained their color while the rest of the photo was converted to sepia with pink edges.
Originally I set out to see if I could find enough items for some kind of Veteran's Day tribute but when I found the pink tape dispenser, my plans changed. You never know what you may find when searching out litter!
