Je Suis Charlie (Please See Cartoons below)

The best way to remember these 12 martyrs and ensure their lives do make a difference is to promote freedom of expression and tolerance. The terrorists theology of evil cannot and must not prevail. To ensure this, silence is not an option. It is because of this, my strong belief in freedom of expression, freedom of religion as well as my admiration of the Prophet Mohammed and Islam that I've created the below cartoon:







Note: Those who kill in the name of Islam (e.g. ISIS, al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, etc.) are apostates in the truest sense. They are NOT Muslims.

One of the reasons Islam spread so fast was because it was known for tolerance and compassion. The prophet Mohammed would be appalled by such acts of evil since he was a strong believer in mercy. He forgave the woman who tried to poison him and spared every person in Mecca even though the city's officials tried to kill him and expelled him at one time.

Great tribute.

Thank you everyone! My admiration goes to all those 3 million people who defiantly marched in support of free expression and tolerance and to honor the victims of those cowardly terrorists. Wish I could've been there. I'm ashamed though, that our President didn't join the world leaders in Paris today considering France has fought side-by-side with us in Afghanistan since the 9/11 attacks and is assisting against ISIS.

Finally, to make clear I do NOT blame Muslims for these murderous acts, and since I could only be in Paris in spirit, I added another cartoon above to sum up what these terrorists are really doing -- urinating on the Qu'ran with each and every act of evil (the hell with them if their feelings are hurt!) and that true Muslims want the good name of their religion and prophet restored!

As a strong show of support for free speech, I just purchased the upcoming Charlie Hebdo magazine (no. 1178). Hope others do too! Guess these murderers never expected that their cowardly acts would backfire and likely breathe new life into Charlie Hebdo that was facing bankruptcy such that it is now an iconic global symbol of free expression! Glad to see the editors have made this issue a stand of defiance against those who want to suffocate free speech! Je Suis Charlie!

Well composed and hopefully thought provoking enough to wake up those fanatics who are lead to insist on their right to free speech whilst condemning the freedoms of others; though I very much doubt it.

Sadly, I have little confidence for the extremists since most believe their view is the only one that counts, a notion I completely reject. They're the blasphemers -- not cartoonists and others who exercise their God-given right of free expression.

It is ironic that a religion founded on tolerance and compassion has been used as a cover for so many acts of atrocity. The response to the latest barbarism shows that these monsters will always fail. Well done, William.

Sadly one of the reasons for this is people feel empowered to commit the most horrendous acts in the name of God as if this gives them some sort of justification. Perhaps Islam is where Christianity was some 300-400 years ago when Catholics and Protestants ruthlessly murdered each other, the inquisition was carried out and countless innocents were murdered merely because they were viewed as witches or rejected the prevailing view of the day. If only they really knew God and with regard to today's repeated acts of evil, knew their prophet!
