The Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars


Photographed here on May 16, 1945 at New York's Town Hall (photographer unknown). Gillespie listens as Charlie Parker solos. Harold 'Doc' West is on drums. Slam Stewart plays bass. Al Haig (not visible here) played piano that evening and Curley Russell, not Stewart, was on the bass for most of the concert.
