A blossoming weeping cherry (Prunus pendula) tree adorns the New York Botanical Garden’s iconic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory (Bronx, New York)—April 28, 2015. Ground was broken on January 3, 1899 and the Victorian-style steel and glass conservatory was completed in 1902.

Exceptional, and so much better than I've ever shot the dome. I assume this was a telephoto shot. With my little P&S rig, I could never bring the dome in this close without losing significant sharpness. The cherries is great, and your composition is perfect. We have to get up there sometime soon. Oh, and congrats on Explore (P1,#2!).

If I recall correctly, I did use a telephoto lens. I believe the clear day helped with the lighting. It's a shame the blossoms didn't last too long, as I would have liked to have come back for a few more shots. Fortunately, there's always a lot to see at the Garden.
