Das ist schon sehr hübsch dort und auch die wanderung zum schlösschen, die wir unternommen hatten. Eine edle residenz, umgeben von einem wunderschönen park.

Didn't they let you in Edna? Nice focusing on your main picture. The PiPs are beautiful. I love the avenue of rhododendrons, and could it be you in the middle PiP. Did you trust someone with your camera, or am I completely wrong? A terrific wood sculpture in your third shot! It looks like a huge pig.

Well, I can't complain as it wasn't just me. They didn't let anybody in ;-) It's a lovely little palace surrounded by a beautiful park. And yes, you guessed correctly...that's yours truly in the middle PiP as I wouldn't trust anybody with my camera ;-))

We were guessing too, but we also thought that it resembled a big pig. Perhaps it's a sign as I was born in the year of the pig ;-)))

Das wäre eine äusserst plausible möglichkeit, Gabi ;-) Aber am wochenende waren wir nicht dort ;-))

Es hilft nix,draussen Motive suchen liebe Edna und das ist dir bestens gelungen,sehr schön ist der Fokus auf den Türgriff und diese Stäucherallee schaut richtig toll aus,die Wildsau war Gott sei Dank schon müde :))

Das geht schon, wenn man flexibel ist. Man kann ja durch die gitterstäbe fotografieren ;-) Und im park. Aber wirklich...schau dir das wildschweinchen mal ganz genau an, es scheint vegetarier zu sein ;-))

Und die rüttelnde dame ist eigentlich mehr eine fotografierende dame...das resultat siehst du ja auf dem bild oben.
Ach, das wildschwein, es ist tatsächlich sehr fotogen, aber wie man sieht doch ziemlich vegetarisch ;-))

Die wohlgenährte wildsau bevorzugt vegetarische kost wie man auf dem foto sehen kann, wenn man ganz genau hinschaut ;-))

Bingo, Dimas! You noticed my play on words. You seem to know German...or did Google or DeepL help you? :-)

In this specific case, I didn't need to google. I learnt some German over 50 years ago in the university with Herr Siegfried Zug, a maestro of choral groups who lived in Portugal. My vocabulary is very short. When I visited Germany in 1973, all alone, I had to speak and listen German all the time and sometimes my thoughts were in German. A lot of vocabulary was gradually forgotten. I still keep in mind most about declensions and syntax rules. I have to make previous reviews of vocabulary before travelling to a German speaking destination. I only ask a question in German if I foresee I can understand the answer...

Well, that's interesting (same word but interesting in a different way compared to the castle you had visited). I'm sorry to say that I don't know Siegfried Zug, but then again I already spoke German fluently in 1973 ;-))
Well, if you only ask a question in German if you can foresee that you'll understand the answer...then you don't have to ask at all ;-))) You may foresee the complete answer in that case.

I know some Portuguese that I learned during my vacation in Brazil (ok, so you may not consider it Portuguese, lol), but it wasn't too difficult to understand (at least reading it) because I studied Latin, French and Spanish before :-)

Portuguese from Brazil has some differences from European Portuguese - still it's Portuguese.
I believe Swiss German is not exactly the same as Germany's German. I'm very curious about idioms. Before travelling abroad, I like to read in tourist guides everything about local idioms: vocabulary, pronunciation of diphthongs, different characters and accents; I also prepare note-books with vocabulary. I try to practice a little and, returning to those places years later, I refresh my memory with the contents of those note-books.

Yes, I know. First of all the pronunciation, but if I remember my friend's explanation correctly, also several different words and expressions.

And you're right about Swiss German and the German spoken in Germany, although there are so many different dialects in Germany. The German spoken close to the Swiss border is quite similar to Swiss German. And yours is an excellent way to learn and get more familiar with a country's language, Dimas!
