The effect was obvious and I figured I'd better take a photo of it instead of cleaning it off ;-))

Well, that shouldn't be a problem as the bus usually arrives at the non-sheltered side ;-)
I'm afraid that a good shower of rain may not do the trick as it was precisely the rain that left those traces. Perhaps rain with dish liquid might help, but in that case the whole bus shelter will be buried in bubbles...and then I might indeed not see the bus arriving ;-))

Every Spring I decide to clean my huge sliding window-doors… and as time goes and I don’t Autumn comes and hope of rain, so I leave it ti next Spring and so on… 5 years last time it was done, but I still can see through…
