unHappy Fence Friday!

Liebe Fotofreunde, an diesem Freitag, einen Tag nach dem russischen - oder besser: Putins - Angriff auf die Ukraine, fällt es mir schwer, ein unschuldig nettes "Happy Fence Friday" Foto zu posten. Es ist vielleicht etwas unbeholfen, aber als Sinnbild dafür, dass die Achtung der Grenzen und Souveränität anderer Staaten die Grundlage des friedlichen Zusammenlebens auf der Erde ist, hier ein Foto vom Eingang eines Firmengeländes, das besagt, bis hierher und nicht weiter, hier darfst du nicht hinein, aber es gibt eine Tür, die wir für wohlgesonnene Leute öffnen. Das ist der Weg, den wir immer nehmen sollten, nicht den als unerwünschter Eindringling über den Zaun.

Update 20:00 MEZ: Nach einer Solidaritätskundgebung für die Ukraine ist mir eine Modifikation des Bildes eingefallen, zu sehen per PiP auf dem gesamten Foto.

Dear photo friends, on this Friday, one day after the Russian - or rather Putin's - attack on Ukraine, I find it hard to post an innocently nice "Happy Fence Friday" photo. It may be a bit awkward, but as a symbol that respect for the borders and sovereignty of other states is the foundation of peaceful coexistence on Earth, here's a photo of the entrance to a corporate compound that says, this far and no further, you're not allowed in here, but there's a door we open for well-meaning people. That is the way we should always take, not the way over the fence as an unwanted intruder.

Update 20:00 CET: After a solidarity rally for Ukraine, I came up with an improvement of the image, to be seen via PiP on the whole photo.
