A gun that was used during D-Day. In Germany, there is a widespread believe (unfortunately so, I have to say) that the most important lesson from Germany's history is: "Never again war!" With all respect of pacifists' motives: the crimes of national-socialist dictatorship were not ended by German peace marches, but by the justified use of military means, and the steadfastness of the allies, particularly Winston Spencer Churchill. Therefor I think the lesson should be: "Never again indulgence towards expansion of aggressive tyranny." I use to term expansion deliberately - I consider fruitless the almost missionary zeal of some neocons, to spread democracy by military means. After all, the saying goes: "Nobody likes missionaries, least of all if they are in arms..."
