“House. c1855. By George Gilbert Scott. Coursed and squared rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings to ground storey; close studded timber framing above; clay tile roof; ashlar stacks of octagonal section with crenellated caps. Vernacular revival style. 2 storeys; gable end of main range to left, lean-to porch to right. Main range: two 3-light stone mullioned windows to ground floor with rebated surrounds containing leaded casements; 5-light oriel window to first floor with wooden mullions and tracery; jettied gable has diamond pattern framing and cusped barge boards. Lean-to porch: ogee headed board door. An essential element of the picturesque estate village rebuilt by Scott in the 1850's.”
