NO ---> Nudity

Very interesting that this is Berlin, USA. Because in Berlin, Germany nudity is accepted in all public parks...

Ironically, this sign (imposing someone's morality on everybody else) is in the middle of nowhere.

Even though this Atlantic beach is about 25km from the small town of Berlin Maryland, it has no relation to any populated area (not really in Berlin Maryland at all); it is about as remote and desolate and untravelled as can be found on any East Coast US beach.

The American view of public nudity has always been stodgy and puritanical; probably now with increasing political pressure from conservative christian groups, even more so.

If there ever was a spot where people wanted to lie unclothed on the beach, this remote spot certainly would be the place ... but I guess "someone" made the long hike to get there, and then was offended(!!) when they saw nude sunbathers; and so they complained to state/provincial authorities, who decided to put up the sign.

There's a Berlin, Nevada, too! A ghost town that's now a state park--I've got an album on it.

The attitudes toward nudity vary a lot between localities & jurisdictions. There are official nude beaches in California, and California even has a law permitting outdoor nudity if you have a "reasonable expectation of privacy." We once came across a party skinny-dipping in a remote Sierra Nevada lake! They were as surprised to see us as we were to see them.
