Potters Houses, Kasso Ki Road, Hafizabad

Potters Houses, Kasso Ki Road, Hafizabad
This photo was recorded during my Feb 2016 visit to PAKISTAN. It tells several stories for me. One of them explains why the two potters are looking away to their left. They were watching the arrival of emergency services as there was a report that a bomb had been planted at the nearby Christian school. I had just been evacuated for safety reasons from the school compound and was sitting in a car (with dark tinted windows) waiting for our next move when I photographed these potters. Bomb Squad, fire brigade, ambulance, police all arrived. (This scare was a false alarm, but sadly the terror bombing at the entrance to a popular playground in Lahore on the evening of Easter Day killed 92 people and injured and traumatised others.)

I remember this photo so clearly, Ian. I think you ought to add a description of the circumstances leading up to the interest in what was happening out of view.

Thank you for the encouragement to tell the story, Amelia. Gone are our comment, but I think I posted in Facebook, so I may be able to copy/passte from there. I am quite a sad that our commentaries were deleted rather than being archived.>>>> Found it and posted it, Amelia. I remain reluctant to rewrite my earlier comments and stories, for I am wishing they would all materialise in some archive somewhere!!

It's really bad, that Panoramio has gone with all our stories, photos, comments and geotaggings. I hope as well, but can't imagine that Google will let us have back at least the archive.

My best wishes to you and to Amelia,

Dear Ian, so sad, what happens in so many places like that and sometimes we hear about it in a short notice and take it as some news which don't have anything to do with us. Your photos are an important part to let us be aware, that we as a mankind are responsible for what happens in all parts of the world. Thank you for your work!
