Goodness me - deserted! What time in the morning was this taken? The Queen wasn't in residence, and someone has left their empty beer bottles. A once in a lifetime shot of the palace.

Good morning Herb, the trouble with having so many palaces within thirty miles or so of here is that it makes it the most awful fag to to keep spending a night or two at each one to make sure that the staff remain on their toes :~)

As to the lack of people, I had arranged that a pile of maundy money was spilled over further down the Mall, everyone was there scrabbling to pick it all up ~ Hanwe

I wouldn't have thought it possible: Buckingham Palace and empty street!! HFF Nick.

Now this is really beautiful Nick. I love the composition here to include the fountain with the lovely clear water and reflections. A beautiful warmth to the light on the facade.
