A boring tale

Do have a look, love it or hate it

From my point of view the amount of land that they have grabbed completed blocked off a favourite figure of eight walk I had that was eight/nine miles long from CSP to the Grand Union Canal and back.

Most people living in the Chilterns are not impressed. However once it is completed it will provide the opportunity to run near empty trains to cater for those people in a hurry to get away from working at home.

I do like trains and I'm sure that lit will all look very grand once completed

That's a topical one Nick! What an interesting video. I don't have a view on it, as it doesn't really affect me, but it's costing an awful lotta money!! I hope it's worth it! HFF.

Cecilia and Florence certainly have the bit between their teeth. HS2 seems to be carving up not only the Chilterns but people's opinions. As far as I'm concerned I think it is a waste of money, particularly now when the country is in so much debt. But then I think the Mars exploration is a waste of money too.

My view is that the future of transport is electric, and the more of the big heavy wagons we can get off the roads the better,,, Even if it costs us a bit of land now.

Electricity undoubtedly will play an ever increasing part in fueling our infrastructure and HS"2 will free up some demand on the existing mainline routes. Distribution patterns are changing with all of the ienternet trading and the closing down of so many retiail chains ~~~

I hope the "bang is worth the buck", but as a public works project in these times, that is a plus (providing the workers and equipment are supplied locally). It seems construction engineers are much enamored with these huge tunneling machines nowadays, but I believe one in Seattle inhaled a pipe and has been sitting immobile for a while now, costing huge dollars in a rescue effort.

You are quite right, the total length of the project ensures rhat the spread of benefits covers a large area.

Yes I can appreciiate that a bunged up borer is rather stuffed. A runaway borer might be fun too :)
