This is actually quite an old house and a fairly old kitchen which has recently had the doors and worktops replaced. New sink, extractor fan and hob, plus lighting.

NICK! LOVE LOVE your kitchen! the colors are neutral like I enjoy so much and used when we remodeled a few years ago. I do want to install flooring such as this instead of what we selected: ( a porcelain tile) ....Everything here is so neat and tidy, love the down-lights at floor level a lot!! and its interesting that the top cabinets differ from the lower ones. very attractive Nick. Wonder who did your cabinets / counter tops? :))) a great kitchen Nick. Best wishes, Hugs, Sarah

Hi Sarah, Isobel made the final choices with advice from all quarters. We had to replace the floor as a result of a flood in the adjoining utility room where an underground pipe had split and the water gradually rising through the concrete base ruining the utility room and seeping through under the kitchen floor too. We had dehumidifiers running constantly for several weeks.
I run a company Sarah that specialises in laminate and composite worktops. One of our trade customers supplied and fitted the doors, plinthes etc. The original kitchen units were retained.

Hi Sarah, yes your humour flew right over my head ~ Sorry. I try not to mention what I do in public arenas such as this. I do'n't wish to be thought of as advertising :~) Hugs ~ Nick

Intrigued by the apparent bottom-plinth lighting -the better to see where those dropped crumbs went :)
Well done, Herb

It helps the mice find the crumbs Herb, after Cashew the Cat has thoughtfully and gently carried them in through the catflap to have a slap up feast :~)

That is the size of the whole of our house! Love the whole layout. and the plinth lighting. If we had that I'd feel obliged to clean our quarry tile floor everyday. Our kitchen was re-done in 1997. It's time for a re-paint. ;-)

Well we will have to be thinking about downsizing in a few years time. A splash of paint will liven up your kitchen too dear LGM x

The cat is out of the bag, now, Nick! Would you care to quote for new kitchen work surfaces for my girlfriend in Madrid? I'll send you some photos and measurements presently! :o)
Kidding aside, I do like your kitchen, I think the positive noises you got from us with the earlier shot encouraged you to post this, and why not indeed!!!
Best wishes,
Andy

We used to do a lot of business with a Spanish Manufacturer Andy. I've made a few trips to Spain on business and pleasure over the years. Your girlfriend will have to show her face before getting new worktops :~))) All the best ~ Nick

Hi Nick

Do I get the idea that you have
a) won the lottery and
b) used the great wads of cash to buy a mansion with a new kitchen?

But how will you find everything when the cook gets a day off?

Best wishes

The kitchen had dark wooden doors before and a light biscuit coloured set of worktops, plus multi coloured tiles ~ it is amazing how much bigger the kitchen looks in its new colours ~ Isobel loves it :~)
