Hier sieht man sehr gut, wie sehr sich doch der Lokführer auf die anderen Bahnmitarbeiter verlassen muß. Da, wo der Zug entlang fährt, sieht der Lokführer im Grunde genommen, anders wie beim Auto, NICHTS. Aber er hat ja den großen Vorteil, daß er nicht lenken muß. Trotz allem, wenn sich da etwas auf dem Gleis befindet, was da nicht hingehört, das gibt es ein Unglück! Es soll sogar Menschen geben, die sind der Meinung, so ein Zug könne doch auch mal anhalten, wenn ein Auto über den Übergang fährt.

So ein durchschnittlicher Zug braucht 15 Sekunden, um einen BÜ zu passieren.

Und wenn ein Auto drauf stehengeblieben ist - auch.

In diesem Fall biegt die Strecke nach rechts ab, was die Ansicht von der Feuerwehrseite nützlicher macht.

Vor einiger Zeit durfte ich auch einmal eine kleine Strecke mit einer kleinen Dampflok mitfahren und der Lokführer hat mich auch mal an den Regler gelassen. :-)

As you know, it is always a problem on big locomotives. In this case, as I said to Frank, the track curves away to the right, making the view from fireman's side more useful.
