Soooo Yummie to the Tummie ! ")
A favorite meal here in this South Georgia household : from the bottom , Grits, bakes beans, boiled Shrimp, and my homemade cold slaw... on the side: melted butter to dip the shrimp, if desired.
And displayed on a favorite tray !

I was as one with Maurice except that I had heard of grits in American literature without knowing what they were! I agree with Steve that the combination of beans and prawns (OK I know you call them shrimps) does look strange to British eyes but might be worth a try!!

Hello Andy, thanks for your visit to my plate of Shrimp w/ beans:))) IF you read all my reply to Steve. you may have seen that we don't NORMALLY eat beans with Shrimp ( NOT Shrimps) but this meal did include them, my husband likes these beans anytime :)) You British friends SHOULD try it however l :))) BUT make sure you choose the right beans Andy :)))

I have had gritz in the USA, but I guess it is an aquired taste. Beans and prawns,, well I must try them!

Hello Peter, glad you liked "this favored meal" ... SOOO you do know about grits! and I see you may not have found the acquired taste:) OH but I am a G.R.I.T.S. !!!! Girl Raised in the South, sooooo we love grits here Peter..:)) wait now, what is "prawns"... we don't have "prawns", Peter, We have SHRIMP :))) really!!!
