Yes they where EM1 and EM2`s used on the Woodhead route across the Pennines. These locos are class 88 Bi-mode, Electric 25 Kv over head and they have a Caterpillar C27 12-Cylinder 708 kW (950 hp) at 1800 r.p.m
for working away from the over head power supply. built by Vossloh/Stadler ,Valencia,Spain Thanks for your YS awarded best wishes Alan.

Yes Peter your best chance of photographing a class 88 would be on the West Coast Mainline as can bee seen from the title it on the Daventry to Mossend service. Best wishes Alan.
