Trumpet vine

A street near me. (Algete street scene 1)
These dramatic flowers are fairly common here. They look especially good against a granite wall and with a view to the distant Guadarrama mountains. A blue sky helps too!
Also everything is as was! No editing at all, no cropping, no enhancements whatsoever.
The light yesterday was so pure that I could have read the small print off a can of coke (if I had been so inclined) without my reading glasses!
Sight and sound:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NR-hmFrR20 - by the late great Tim Buckley. Simply because it's a summery kind of song and with summer on the way out soon, I get a bit of a sadness creeping in. This song helps cheer me up. By the way, younger members might recognise the name of his talented son; Jeff Buckley. Sadly, both died young and both by drowning.
Perhaps best on full screen.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Armando Taborda clubAndy Rodker club has replied to BoroAndy Rodker club has replied to Gillian Everett clubTim Buckly was big in France in the 70s - which is where I got to know him. But no-one in England had heard of him. Those schoolmates of mine to whom I played Greetings from L. A. were immediately impressed but still ... Jeff was always the more popular of the two at least in England.
Like you say, I too like both!

The trumpet vine does grow in England, at least I recall seeing one healthy specimen on my walk to school (it would have been the second week in September as it wouldn't have been flowering before schools broke up in the third week of July ... or maybe it did flower earlier in the summer of 76!) But I think it struggles in most years.

I like this picture very much!
It is a very clever composition to include the other set of flowers in the background!
Fantastic colours too
Best Wishes, HWW,, and stay safe!!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubYes, the colour of these trumpet vines is amazing. I've also seen yellow ones, but they're that much more rare,
Best wishes,
Andy

Hartelijke groeten en een prettig weekend, Frans.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Frans Schols clubProbably they flower ok but need higher temperatures to ripen the seed pods, But I'm no expert!
Have a good week
