A strange situation; over the mountains and into Segovia Province, they had a succession of storms all day while we had unrelenting blue skies. Only late evening, as I relaxed with a glass of something alright, did I see the storm clouds and the edges caught by the rapidly sinking sun.

I wonder if we are going to see something like this at the end of next week. The UK forecast is that your latest heatwave is heading our way in a few days with talk of record temperatures. The weather forecaster said he had never put 40C on a UK map before.

That day is fast approaching!
I wonder also if it'll conform to the Duke of Wellington's maxim that the summer in England consists of two fine days and a thunderstorm!
On the penultimate record, I was in Kent (Hever Castle) with my Spanish lot (my sister and her family - who I currently live with in Spain - were visiting me) and the rocord that day was set at Faversham (it was August 2004), so just down the road. Yes it was hot but my Spanish family just took it in their stride as you might expect!
