It was an isolation hospital when first built. Run by monks, it catered for TB patients when this was someway from the centre of Madrid. Now it is very central and is no longer a hospital, but government offices. The architects - 2 of them - were well known (I gave their details in the first shot I posted a week or two ago) and it was completed by the surprisingly late date of 1919!
