Definitely NOT 'Rafe' in Cornwall!!!! You would be laughed out of the Duchy for up-country pretentiousness!
In fact 'Rafe' is used hardly anywhere. I have only heard in reference to a famous composer who lived mainly in the first half of the 20th century and an explorer from a posh background who is seen on TV from time to time. And that's it! It is considered archaic these days!

Heh. Good to know. Many moons ago I was involved with an amateur production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "HMS Pinafore," and recall it being repeatedly emphasized that the male protagonist's name was pronounced "Rafe"!

Me too - but in the orchestra (school production). Rafe would have been the preferred Victorian era pronunciation for aspiring and upper classes.

A beautiful shot Andy..............again, I'm amazed at how lovely the sea is. That rock is quite impressive too..........the shape reminds me of the fins of a blue whale (usually spotted when they slap the surface of the sea),

I must say that I walked here a lot in the years 2008-2010, got fit and got to grips with the essence of this coast. All without a camera.
I only started taking photos later, on my infrequent holiday returns and I am now running out of photos! Help!!

I know what you mean Andy............I travelled around the world when I was in the RN, but I wasn't into photography then, so have very little in the way of photos to show for it. I only took up photography much later - and far to late to do it all again..!!
