Maubeuge  : Porte de Mons
Construite en matériaux locaux (pierre bleue, brique et grès) en 1682, la Porte de Mons fait partie de l'enceinte fortifiée de Maubeuge (Nord). A l'époque, deux autres portes permettaient d'entrer dans la ville. À l'origine, la porte abritait un corps de garde, des logements pour les troupes et un cachot. Depuis 1924, la Porte de Mons est classée Monument historique

----------- Built with local materials (blue stone, brick and sandstone) in 1682, 'the Gate of Mons' is part of the walls of Maubeuge (Nord). At the time, two other gates allowed to enter the city. Originally, the Gate housed a guard, housing for troops and a dungeon. Since 1924, the Gate of Mons is classified historic monument
