Lake Huron Sunset

We were overnight in Alpena, Michigan, along Thunder Bay when out with our son and daughter-in-law and went to find a place where we could watch the sunset. While watching the sunset we looked for Petosky stones and found a bag full of them.
My wife picks up rocks wherever we go and the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron are a great place to find these unusual stones, a fossil coral. Petosky stones are Michigan's state stone andt hey are often polished and made into jewelry.
The first inset shows a group of the nicest Petosky stones we found and the second a group of other fossils including some Charlevoix stones, another fossilized coral. We intend to polish some of the nicer stones and use one of them for a pendant.
