Winter Lichens

The lichens and mosses are about the only things green during the winter here besides the Ponderosas and is seems to be that most of them fruit late in the winter. Most of my photos of lichens are from the winter months, therefore, and ass with these photos include the frost and snow.

Magical beauty, so finely captured and presented! Such wonderful macro work, Ron. I was looking under branches the past couple of days on my tromps up and down the driveway and have found so many darling micro mushrooms and fabulous lichens and interesting, odd funguses that fill me with great delight. No camera with me but your pictures today are in the same ballpark...I just love to look at it all...and bitty snails so small they are barely visible...such fun to see them!
