Yellow Bells

Yellow Bells
This is the third wildflower we've found this spring, which is coming very slowly. They are Yellow Bells, Fritillaria pudica. We've only found half a dozen flowers so far, but know where to find more. The drops are the aftermath of a heavy rainstorm and I was very muddy and wet when finished photographing these.

WOO HOO!!! *high five* Look at those lovely blossoms!! Three very nice pictures, and lol, I sure know all about getting muddy and wet to get pictures like these! (By the way, I found poison oak on my OTHER knee too...FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!!! :D Confounded rash anyway! :D The worst is fading though so these little rashes are nothing.)

I'm so glad you liked my mule ear pictures. :D They are such flashy flowers, and yes they sure do look like Arrowroot Balsam at first glance.

Keeping track of blooming times really is a good idea! I don't keep a log though...all I do is look up my pictures of the flower I'm interested in and the date taken is right there. No extra work suits me just fine! :D Of course this year all bets are off because of the late winter but normally, I use my pictures time stamp and it works like a charm!

BOOOOO on the news of Yellowstone being closed this early in the year. It makes sense but it's so disappointing nonetheless. Well, maybe you can get your trip taken care of rather soon so you can get back and find some wonderful places near you that ARE open! :)

Ticks are just so NASTY. Just like you guys, there is a place near us where the ticks literally RAIN from the trees...it's incredible and so disgusting and repulsive that we will not go back...makes my skin crawl remembering that day...we'd gone on a group hike and people brought their dogs. I remember one white dog that was literally PEPPERED with black specks...ALL OF THEM were ticks. *runs around shrieking* They were all over us too...the hike was abandoned right after we discovered what was happening. Steve and I drove home, crushing more ticks even though we thought we'd gotten them all...then stripped down...MORE ticks...we shook out our clothes and threw them in the wash, showered and scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed...omg that day!!! We had nightmares of ticks for the next week!

Oh my, you're making bread! How wonderful!! We have a bread machine which we used to use constantly. You're right, regular bread is a carb bomb, but we can make bread using almond flour and some other ingredients and it's really quite fantastic!

The ingredients in case you're curious:
www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/the-keto-bread
1¼ cups almond flour
5 tbsp ground psyllium husk powder
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sea salt
2 tsp cider vinegar
1 cup boiling water
3 egg whites
2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

There are lots of keto bread recipes, this one is quite nice!

Wow, that's kind of awesome that you don't have weight issues from carbs but the price tag totally and utterly SUCKS :(

Ok off I go!! :D
