Mount Baker in January

Mount Baker in January
This is where we were on Monday, January 2. A group of us went snowshoeing to Artist's Point north of Mount Baker, a five mile round trip. It was bitter cold with a harsh wind blowing at the top, but we stayed long enough for some photos. Mount Baker holds many world records for snowfall and this winter is looking like another record maker with close to 300 inches (7.6 meters) of snow there already. Mount Baker itself is over 10,000 feet in elevation (3,050 meters) but we were only at about 5,000 feet (1500 meters).
