Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park
These springs have formed enormous terraces or calcium carbonate deposits that are colored as these where the springs are running - colored by algae that live in the hot water - but that turn a drab white when the springs dry up. This picture was taken from the top of the terraces looking out over the valley below.
