Looking at your other pictures, it seems that these may be very young flower buds just forming on a Cactus or Succulent?

Sorry I didn't get a chance to speak to you on Saturday. I doubt that they are flower buds as they were on a leaf (but I could be wrong).

Some cacti and succulents do sprout flowers along the edge of leaves. See my photos in the Mallorca set at Deia. There are some species which also sprout new seedlings in that way as well, which grow for a while, and then drop off to establish themselves in the surrounding ground once the roots are forming.
