Kaiser Wilhelm II. (1859-1941) war häufig zu Gast in Norwegen. Auch die Gegend des Svartisen-Gletschers hat er mit seiner Yacht "Hohenzollern" besucht. Ihm zu Ehren wurde ein Raum in der Touristenhütte am Engabrevatnet "Keisersalen" genannt.
