It might cause blank stares, Keith. There are many regional versions of crooked. Out-of-whack is another good one. Cockeyed. Skew-whiff. Catty-corner (or kitty-corner). Out of kilter. Out of whack. Lots more in the south that I don't know. Take your pick!
