Emergency at Bi-Mart

Emergency at Bi-Mart
Someone was taken away in an ambulance, but I was completely unaware of anything amiss until I left the store. Something I've always wondered: why does a gigantic engine always show up with the ambulance? Maybe they suspect an entire family needs medical help instead of one person, even though they've been told one person. Maybe it will be a case of spontaneous combustion. Maybe I think too much.

, Gudrun, Smiley Derleth, Andy Rodker have particularly liked this photo

Ever since I looked at European ones, these seem awfully excessive! This is an older one, but even in tight NYC, the new ones are just as big. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsYFN6pPih8

Interesting link Diane...............that's a beast of a machine..!! They must sometimes struggle in traffic and some of the narrower streets..!!

I imagine so. They're probably pretty good at plowing through. When I worked in San Francisco near a fire station I was amazed by their skill at making fast, tight turns in a very long truck!

I attend city meetings here and once heard it explained why the big engines show up before the ambulances. It all made sense, but it slipped my mind :) So, the moral of the story is that it somehow made sense!
