"Spa Room" in my mother's assisted living home. She doesn't use it, she doesn't think she needs a spa - lol!

Andy Rodker, Ulrich John, Gudrun, Smiley Derleth have particularly liked this photo

I do understand your mother, all that newfangled spa and "wellness" stuff;-) Our greatgrandparents took a bath before Christmas and the next one before Easter, the dirt was supposed to keep you insulated against the cold-lol

Haha! Ours didn't even get to have their own bath water, unless they were the oldest child! I think my mom's family bathed once a week, but my dad's, probably much less often. (Yeah, "wellness." I once heard the following sentence in a TV ad about a clinic: "We use wellness to prevent illness." I felt like throwing furniture, or something.)

Oh dear, wellness to prevent illness- yuck!

Here it used to be the father's privilege, then the mother and only after that the kids- all in the same water;-) Those times are long gone now..

I have to say I'm glad we now get our own water - and towel! When we would go camping (1950s) it would usually be for several weeks. I would get the first bath because I'm the oldest. Too bad for you, little brothers! (Yeah, I don't use very much wellness and I don't even worry about it!)

I'm so pleased you all hate that non-word 'Wellness'.
I first saw it on the side of health spas and clinics in Madrid about 6-7 years ago and assumed it was a Spanish / English translation error. I later discovered that it was the invented name of a German fitness company and that they were rapidly expanding in the US as well as other parts of Europe.
It annoys me to have to keep correcting students who insist that wellness is a synonym for good health as in;
'How are you?'
'I have wellness today'
They think I am joking when I try to correct them.
I dare say that it WILL be part of the language soon. GRRRR!

I carry all three with me at all times, Diane. To say that the Madrid police are puzzled would be an understatement!

It's only a matter of time before you're on the no-fly list, Andy. Be careful out there!
