Sun Pass Ranch

It's a sort of dude ranch, but you bring your own horses, if you want to. This location is Fort Klamath (even though Ipernity says it's Chiloquin) and it's just south of Crater Lake, one of Oregon's most beautiful and most visited tourist spots.

... the curving sweep of the river, and the horizontal bands of both snowcovered landscape and green background forest, are all nice components together ...

(I am intrigued by the ghostly deciduous trees back along the edge of the forest; a nice vignette if Ipernity had a mechanism to enlarge them. Gray Birches? frost-covered Aspens?)

Those are quaking aspens: www.ipernity.com/doc/1227338/44492600 and just as pretty in winter as summer. The bark is a gorgeous white and much smoother than birch bark. Thank you, Wally!
