Yes. I really miss our Kmart. Now, for cheap stuff I have to trek to Walmart, my least favorite store, walk for miles across the parking lot and inside the store... Kmart was nearby and so handy.

Don't y'all have Dollar Stores out that way? We have Family Dollar - Dollar General - and another one and I can never remember which one is where ! Ours are locally owned.

Better than going all the way over driving over to Wally World - share you sentiments.
They have put so many Mom and Pop Stores out of business ......

I do my best to 'buy local' even if I pay a bit more -- would much rather it help to put food on the table of a neighbor than for it to end up with a stockholder !

Yes, there is one, but they don't have much of what I need. As for locally owned, there isn't much of that, either! Yep, Wally has pretty much closed down main streets in small towns. After a couple of decades of that, there aren't many people left with the knowledge, motivation or the capital to open their own stores!

I buy most of my groceries at a small chain called Sherm's, or at Albertson's. That's all there is besides Walmart. It's an entrepeneurial desert, here.
