Running in the park

Running in the park
My granddaughter's photo and, as I've noted before, she's the family dog-whisperer. This was a very pretty dog, maybe a border collie mixed with blue heeler. He definitely carried himself like a herding dog and had the intense stare of a "strong-eyed" breed like a border collie. ("Eye" - either strong or loose - is something I just learned about herding dogs and it's really interesting: tinyurl.com/j4p4762)

Generally speaking, a strong-eyed dog (e.g. border collie) is best for herding sheep and a loose-eyed one (e.g. heeler) for herding cattle or guarding.
