They leave it just to rot? Anyway, it makes for a lovely photo. It would be sad to see those wooden barns go and have only corrugated iron instead...

Yes, they leave it to rot! I hate to see them go, too, but they cost a fortune to maintain. They have to always be kept in good shape, otherwise the get beyond repair. I think in most places in the world, these are gradually replaced by metal ones. Now, this farm has some newer ones located closer to the farmer's house.

Yes, it's the same in Europe. Only in some National Parks barns are kept the way they used to be because it's the law. But in that case farmers usually get financial help.
