Toboggan ist der Name eines Fahrgeschäftes auf Volksfesten. Die Ursprünge reichen bis nach Nordamerika des 19. Jahrhunderts, von dort stammt auch der Name, der einen leichten Schneeschlitten aus Holz bezeichnet.
Der Fahrgast wird mittels eines schnell laufenden Förderbandes zur Turmmitte transportiert. Von dort steigt man auf Treppen zur Turmspitze, genießt die Aussicht von oben und rutscht nach unten. Für die Belustigung der Zuschauer sorgt das Förderband. Durch die hohe Geschwindigkeit des Bandes ist viel Geschick erforderlich, um ohne Hilfe stehend den Turm zu erreichen. (siehe PiP)
Heute existieren im deutschsprachigen Raum nur noch zwei mobile Toboggans und einer im Wiener Prater. Quelle: Wikipedia

Toboggan is the name of an amusement ride at folk festivals. The origins date back to the 19th century to North America, from there comes also the name that designates a light wooden snow sled.
The passengers will be transported by means of a high-speed conveyor belt to the middle tower. From there you climb stairs to the spire, enjoy the view from the top and slide down. An amusement of the spectators provides the conveyor belt. Due to the high speed of the belt a lot of skill is required to reach the tower without help! (see PiP)
