As we regain the A894 we have a chance to look back over the magnificent landscape here and see the giant Suilven against the horizon. A mountain that beckoned us again and again whilst in Assynt.

'Suilven may be only 731 metres high, but its remarkable outline make it one of Scotland's best known and most easily identified mountains. Lying in a remote area in the west of Sutherland, it rises from a wilderness landscape of moorland, bogs and lochans known as Inverpolly National Nature Reserve. Suilven forms a steep-sided ridge some two kilometres in length.' Wikipedia & Walkhighlands

Along with Canisp and Stac Pollidh these three mountains dominate the area for many miles up here. All three a delight to observe. Oh to see them in the winter snows. Glad this brought back memories my friend.

Yes, I had seen it called 'Sugar load' too Chris. We were much closer than this staying in our log cabin cottage at Inverkirkaig but on the other side. Glad this brought back memories.
