A seat on Staithes Beck.

Back to last year’s trip to the Yorkshire coast and we see here a view looking up this small tidal part of the river. In past years this section would have been teeming with fishing boats sheltering from the rough seas just a couple of hundred meters below us. Now just one or two die-hard crafts still moor here; so is the scene in all our old fishing villages. It’s early and so I precede the hordes of tourist who now flock to this historical quant place and for once, the weather is kind.

Such a shame the fishing industry has declined so much..................I'm guessing that tourism is the main source of jobs and revenue nowadays, so this is the time of year to make some money - or would be!

I can see why it would attract the tourists.............it's a lovely place. Those benches are perfectly place to sit and watch the world go by. The village looks really beautiful and I like the detail you've captured, especially in the harbour walls and the cobblestones. Superbly composed and taken Herb. HBM and have a good week ahead.

So glad you enjoyed this place Steve. Certainly a place where you could have fun with your camera too. Our holiday abode was only a 15 min drive from here and so I could get down there before the crowds came. It was only around 09.30 when I got here ( I must correct my camera time)
