It must be Summer?

It must be Summer?
A local cricket match on this delightful Sunday in April belies the forecast of snow over the next few days here. Ah well lets enjoy it while we can and for me a well earned sit-down on this local photo walk at Greenfield,UK

Nina Stefanova, Amelia, Steve Paxton, Erhard Bernstein have particularly liked this photo

I miss my cricket here in Spain! I can't even get TMS as the BBC resents non license-payers living abroad getting anything at all out of them. So I enjoy your shot, Herb!
Have a good week. Best wishes,
Andy

Yep Steve, if you look carefully you can see the ball just leaving or hitting the bat. As you say a very English scene that I have sadly unrepresented here. I have in fact taken a few of these scenes well on the past and one of my first big hits (sic) was catching the bails mid flight after a great bowl whilst trying a brand new Canon 200mm out on its first outing. Glad you like it.
Cheers, Herb

Hi Andy. I reckon on living abroad, their must be a few things that you take for granted over here and sadly miss where you are. Our village cricket scenes must be near the top of that list. You have at least still got access to golf and tennis. However for me these sports are all spectator sports. Typical of BBC, is it not on Sky or BT etc? Glad you like the shot anyhow, Herb

Perfectly timed, Herb. I love a village cricket match. Peace and calm apart from the occasional cry of 'Howzat' and sleepy applause.

Exactly Amelia. I was passing nearby and heard these very words that attracted me here, down along the stream to the side of the pitch and a well earned sit down after a couple of hours of walking with camera along the nearby Greenfield Canal (Huddersfield narrow). Glad you like this one.
Best wishes, herb
