I got a little down hearted with the results from the Tamron 150-600. So I went old school so I purchased a 300mm F4 AF-S D lens and added my 1.4 converter on the back. this lens has no VR so not very good for day use but perfect for my manual use at night. you are looking at first set of photos In DX mode 630mm from my back yard (Yes my back yard) in the city in city lights. cant wait for Wednesday night to go bush. 19 shots stacked ISO640 30sec. Enjoy the Southern skies.

Take two- Pack Man

4 min Sky tracked 4 min ground untracked and LLL.

Carina

03 Aug 2019 6 2 399
This is 56 shots on the tracker plus all the Back files in this case I did 56 to match as well noise Vignetting and Dark frames. A better shot than the first up trial I did an indication the set up works. The difference between the photos is 8 months and Carina has tilted 90 degrees to the right from the first shot I took early in the year.

Core Of the Milky way- full size is best.

03 Aug 2019 17 9 481
At the end of the night I put the 14mm on the tracker and took the Milky Way which by this time was right above my head. this is 6 shots stacked together of 4 min exposure time each I went for ten but the dew build up was far too strong on the latters shots. A note I have replaced the laptop edit now I have my desktop back. Enjoy some of outer space.

Change of plan and a bold move.

The Rock sits in a pot full of water to keep the rock wet. the Rock cost me $40 a long time ago my first chance to use it to it max. a local tree in a local rock be interesting to see just how well this does.

Chinese Elm- Sullivan Rock

23 Jul 2019 8 6 335
This has been the major project for the last 3 years. One of the trees that grew from seed. two years ago I got a Rock from Sullivan Rock ( from one of the photo shoots at night)that I thought it would look good planted on(in). First drill a hole 25mm in the granite to put the trunk into and the tap root out the bottom. The rest of them over the rock so it looks like it grew there and soil washed away. For the last few year it has been growing in a large plastic pot. This was done today with a lot of delicacy(help for my wife) as I did not want to cut the roots, just wash the soil away and re-spread out under the rock on the soil. It is not quite as I want it but its a start gives me thinking time over the next 3 years. I did not 100% like the one tree so I put one of the small untrained trees at the back to add some depth as well. the moss came from our swamp and covers the whole surface after much patch work quilt style. This is no longer a pot I can lift on my own it is 650mm long and the tree is 600mm height just the rock alone weighing at 15 kg as well as the pot. Not quite the right pot but I did not want to buy a new pot so this will do. Now it grows and its twin and gets shaped my vision is in front of you just as I had conceived it in my mind.

Red Azalea

23 Jul 2019 8 5 395
When my Mother in law passed away we inherited 15 of the Azalea's I chose one for my bonsai collection. I have been watching flowers being destroyed in the hard rain, so first day the rains stopped I brought the tree into the house to get a photograph. enjoy a burst of colour.
