Skull & Cross Bones Nebula NGC 2467

Always good to see your deep space shots Steve and you always give us a puzzle to solve with names of Nebulae. Once you see the eyes, all is revealed here but I can also see the fish image. Another technical masterpiece that only the gifted few can replicate here on Ipernity.

you are kind of right I even scratch my head some of the names that they have been given. I know I have a very good imagination and some of them I still cant see it. there is a lot of work goes into these shots mostly while I am asleep and the mount just does its thing and then there are night when you there is rain around you have to make sure things are safe. I am about to go into rain an clouds so I am up early morning as the rain slowly gather.

its true this is all about the gear you have and how its used that you get the results. This has been quite a learning experience but one I can say I am comfortable with and enjoy the results from rather simple gear and processing. the biggest part in this is the processing never been a big part of my how I have been before. the net results are starting to come together each time and target I shoot.

For me its the pleasure of bringing alive some thing most just would not see at all in any given life time. many thanks for the comment and we are trying to stay safe as WA fall to Omicron and make good choices.

Thanks for publishing the technical data. I want to start experimenting with Astrofotos this year.

I would suggest if you are not timid and you are ready to learn you should start. its not easy but all very logical I would suggest you think on what you want to do long term dont buy small then have to rebuy better gear as the gear you bought is not good enough. I you have camera lens primes you will be able to use them as well in the long run.

I am a bit self taught as I took photos of space before but nothing like this at all. you have to be up for the frustrations and miss fires till you get it right. you will no be the first nor the last I have had those night as well early days. give your self 1 1/2 - two years to get where I am.

My mount is second hand but I bought it so I could up grade the mount with rubber belts rather than the gears. I suggest buy bigger than you think as it will be what you need in the long run. I suggest try some one local to get help. I have lots of notes on the system I use and can help but I is better if you can get some one face to face. I am always here if you have questions I have been through it all as well.

Its a target that most dont do but for me I will try out any thing. My next is a wide field of an area I have done most of the targets from be interesting to see the net result.

You bring space alive with your photography, Steve. I can see a bull's face here, but not a skull and crossbones - even with my head tilted.
