Snake Nebula B72

Snake Nebula B72

Jupiter In front of the Milky way

Snake is almost dead center of the shot next to Jupiter.

this is 44 shot on the only night in lock down to be able to shoot now its back into rain and clouds.
44 Shots 10min each till the tree got in the way. when you see the number of stars in this one shot really puts thing into perspective.

Great astro images, Steve. Unfortunately the weather charts don't look promising for you.

George has not been a very good winter so far clouds and rains this is my first real go after testing and setting up new mount NEQ6 pro long term I will get it belt modified removing all the gear/ black lash. old unit was 8 kg set up weight and all this is 20kg head and legs a lot more solid unit. The good point about that is its better tracking and finer tracking stars are smaller crisper why I took this huge star field to test out. over all happy with the way this has turned out but no chance to do two nights shooting. many thanks the images will come slowly.

This part of the sky above us we just dont see it goes 100% totally unnoticed. I am enjoying the time to bring it alive and in the flesh welcome to my world. only thing Is I have 100% cloud cover a rain ...................................

its Just above our head but we never get to see it brought to life. A photographic discipline that most would shy away from but one I am enjoying. many thanks.

Yes, I know, it's above our heads. But unfortunately you see it all too rarely, not because you don't want to, but because you can't anymore. :-/

You talking Light pollution I guess on that score we are quite lucky but this is shot from the edge of the city at home. I enjoy the wide field here out of the city its so dark.

Yes, exactly: light pollution! In our small country it's almost everywhere. If i want to see a sky like yours here, i have to go to very remote places => like this. :-)
