The last Goldenrod variety.

The last Goldenrod variety.
This is Showy Goldenrod, the last one to bloom, all other Goldenrods bloom much earlier, this one not until the end of September. I have photographed six different varieties, but this one is always the most beautiful one.

Thanks. I am glad you find them so as well. Most people don't care for Goldenrods.

They really are beautiful. Some people mistakenly think they cause allergies, but the pollen is too large to penetrate the respiratory system. hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/goldenrod-ragweed

Thanks for pointing that out, Ron. They belong to the Aster tribe, even more reason to look at them as wonderful wildflowers. The most unusual is the large-leaf variety, of which I have only every found one location and that is at Wolcott Mill Metropark.
