Polar Vortex, the effects of
Our bedroom window had a thick layer of ice this morning. The temperature at 9:00 a.m. was -14°F (-26°C). Schools are closed for three days, all public services are suspended. Three US states are under the state of emergency. A total of 10 US states are effected by the Polar Vortex with extremely cold temperatures.

Es wird schon 'waermer', eben hab ich aufs Thermometer geschaut: -14°C, das sind schon zwoelf Grad besser als gestern.

Hallo Dörthe, bei uns war heute Starkschneefall angesagt...., aber nix war damit. Bei euch soll es ja auch wieder wärmer sein.

Hast du richtig gelesen, Klaus, denn gestern war es tatsaechlich warm bei uns und ich bin ins Schwitzen gekommen, als ich mit Maggie spazieren war. Wir hatten 11°C und das nachdem es -26° war fuer mehrere Tage.

Ja, ist waermer geworden, der Schnee ist abgetaut, ausser der Halden, die ueberall an Parkplatzen vor sich hinschmelzen.
