A very pleasant looking area. I read that habitat destruction is one of the main threats to this snake.

I was very surprised, reading about the snake's existence in this area, because the nature center is surrounded by hundreds of new homes. This section of Stony Creek Metropark is north of the actual park and the trails are 7.5 miles long. Only two cars can park at the entrance. I was shocked to see that dogs on a leash are allowed, knowing that the part of the nature center you know does not allow any dogs.
