Der hat ja sein eigenes Koerbchen, wo ein Schmalzkuchen mit Samen drin ist, aber ab und zu mag er auch gerne Sonnenblumenkerne, die auch in drei anderen Koerbchen sind. Er braucht sich also garnicht so abzuquaelen, Joerg.

Our squirrels get all the seeds the birds drop and there always many. Usually five or more squirrels pick everything off the ground. On very cold days I throw sunflower seeds on the ground for them that I clean of all the snow.

Ich hatte ein viel besseres Foto, kann das aber nicht finden. Freut mich, dass es nun selber sehen kannst, dass sein Bauch tatsaechlich Farbe hat, wenn auch nicht so intensiv wie sein Kopf.

I just remembered that I have photos of squirrels getting very comfortable on this feeder. They used to jump from a branch of the Norway maple down to the garage roof, then lowered themselves down a thin wire this feeder was held by on the gutter. So, no this is not a squirrel proof feeder, Ron. I found a couple of the photos. Although this is before I had added the thin wire.
