This little mantis nymph snuck in through the door and went to a Mayan calendar hanging on the wall.

This plant sends up leaves in the spring which die down after a few months. In late summer the plant uses the stored energy to send up flowers. Sometimes, they are called "magic lilies" or "spider lilies". (Thanks to Keith for reminding me of this name.)

The dogs & I were sitting by the pond when I saw something running across the surface. It was a very good photo subject and sat on the water surface while I got photos from various angles.

Occasionally, Garip will find a box turtle and bring it to me. I will thank him, make sure the turtle is right-side-up, and Garip & I will go somewhere else. The turtle walks away.
