I see one here about twice a year . The Red bellied nest here,, the Downy's do too.. I see a Pileated very occasionally

I think I've mentioned that we have some borers that are killing many pine trees. So, there is lots of opportunity for woodpeckers.

Lovely capture Ronald, I really do envy you getting these opportunities, probably the best bird video I have ever seen is a slow motion close up of one of these hammering away at the tree, the muscles, eye movement and the bark being chipped away is an absolute wonder in nature.

Excellent capture. I have never been successful at taking a picture of any kind of woodpecker (they always disappear before I ready my camera). So it is good to see your excellent images.
