Horsey Beach. Bay 29. With clickable PiPs
All the way along the beach are 'bays' separated by breakwaters like this. Each bay is numbered, and I think this is one way of counting the seal population when the seals gather on the beach to produce seal pups. We came off the beach just after noon, as it was getting busier. The sand was very hot for walking on. I can't believe that this was just a week ago. The weather is very cool now and rainy. Typical British summer.

I love the textures, Amelia, you have captured in the stones and the shingle. You have achieved excellent colour contrast between beach and sky.

I often see a seal in the river, when I am in town. It always appears when I have a wide-angle lens on my camera, and never appears when I go looking for it with a telephoto lens. LOL.

I have to admit that I'd never heard of that song, Nick; and even after listening to it on You Tube it didn't ring any bells. I'm pleased with the 29 seals though. :-))))

A very pleasant mix of tones and textures, Amelia. I see beach users in the distance, were there still any seals around or do they leave when the crowds arrive?

There were quite a few seals playing in the sea, George. On the whole they are not frightened of humans, and in fact can be aggressive especially if they have pups. The whole beach is fenced off then, but it's still possible to walk in the dunes. I'll add a couple more photos as PiPs.

A beautifully composed main image Amelia.............I love the colours and details. Those huge rocks are a work of art in their own right I think!

The images in the PiPs are really delightful, especially the 2nd PiP with the baby seal sleeping happily. So cute!
